Ascension Cellars

2019 Siren Rosé

Inspired by Provence

About this wine

Siren, our seductive Provence-inspired Mourvedre-based rosé was cold fermented in stainless steel with limited exposure to oxygen, retaining the subtle nuances of the bright fruit and high-toned esters. The nose is vibrant and fresh with hints of strawberry, Bing cherry, citrus blossom, ruby red grapefruit with flavors that carry over onto the palate along with a bright alluring minerality and smooth peach-filled finish that is refreshing and flawless in sophistication. Pair this wine with aged goat (Midnight Moon) or fresh feta cheeses to medium-bodied Spanish Manchego cheeses, shellfish, salmon, seafood tacos, pork, turkey, and pasta. -- AWARDS: GOLD MEDAL - 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition / SILVER MEDAL - 2020 Experience Rose Competition -

Meet the Winemaker

Erick Allen

Winemaker

Ascension Cellars

Erick Allen began his winemaking career in 1991, after a two-month long trip to France and to Italy. A love of Châteauneuf-du-Papes wines from the Rhône wine region in Southern France’s and Chianti wines from Tuscany framed his future. Upon Erick’s return he was telling a friend about his new found wine muse when she said, “if you love Rhône wines you should visit Paso Robles in California’s central coast where Rhône varietals thrive”. At that moment the die was cast.
