VINEYARD NOTES: Located on the border of the Sonoma Coast and Los Carneros appellations, planted in 1998 with Dijon Clones 115, 667, 777 & 828 on SO4 and 101-14 rootstock. Dry-farming, cane-pruning and organic practices result in low yields of less than 3 tons per acre. The vineyard is certified organic by CCOF. WINEMAKING NOTES: Destemmed Pinot Noir grapes were cold macerated in an open-top stainless steel tank for fermentation on naturally occurring native yeasts. After 3 hours, 180 gallons was bled (Saignee method) and racked into three 60-gallon neutral French oak barrels for 5 months of barrel ageing. TASTING NOTES: Elegant flavors of ripe strawberries, rose petals and melons fold into a crisp, fresh, smooth mouthfeel. After spending two fantastic summer vacations in VilleFranche sur Mer, I developed a fond appreciation of Rosé for lunch, apertos, and dinner. With a bountiful harvest in 2012, We had the opportunity to make a Rosé from our Estate Pinot Noir in a fruit-forward style that I love.
