Rose of Syrah

By Canihan Family Winery

Live, Drink, Dream!
VINEYARD NOTES: Located on the border of the Sonoma Coast and Los Carneros appellations, planted in 1998. Dry-farming, cane-pruning and organic practices result in low yields of less than 3 tons per acre. The vineyard is certified organic by CCOF. WINEMAKING NOTES: Destemmed Syrah grapes were cold macerated in a stainless steel tank for fermentation on naturally occurring native yeast. After 6 hours, 470 gallons were bled (Saignee method) and racked into eight 60-gallon neutral French oak barrels for 4 months of barrel ageing. TASTING NOTES: Fruit forward yet elegant, lush flavors of ripe strawberries, raspberries and melons fold into a smooth mouthfeel and finish. This Rosé displays a darker color with bolder fruit flavors compared with our Pinot Noir Rosé. This 2019 is the inaugural vintage of our Syrah Rosé and provides an opportunity to compare it with our slightly more elegant Pinot Noir Rosé. After spending two summer vacations in the South of France, I developed an appreciation of Provence-style Rosés at lunch, seaside, and with dinner. Syrah grapes result in a fruit-forward yet fresh Rosé, perfect for the summer. $1 SHIPPING AFTER ANY 12 BOTTLE PURCHASE.
