Linda Vista Vineyard Chardonnay

About this wine

Vineyards: Linda Vista Vineyard is in the western part of the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, an area historically known for award winning Chardonnay. This location benefits from cool coastal breezes snaking their way off of the San Pablo Bay, to provide bright acidity, while the inland sun teases out flavorful ripeness. Winemaking: The hand-picked fruit was sorted and then gently crushed before being pressed. The juice cold settled overnight then transferred to a combination of new 500 Liter puncheons and neutral barrels for fermentation. The juice was inoculated with a combination of yeasts for complexity. After the primary fermentation was complete the wine was moved to cold storage where it slowly finished malolactic fermentation. Aging was done over 12 months sur less, without battonage. Tasting Notes: On the nose tropical fruit flows into the kitchen for fresh-baked golden-delicious apple pie with a hint of key lime. Upon first sip you are greeted with a pop of bright acid then the edges rounded with a hint of pineapple upside down cake and a finish kissed with minerality. The wine displays both elegance and balance.

Meet the Winemaker

Casey Stringer

Winemaker/Owner

Stringer Cellars

Casey Stringer was a high schooler from Wisconsin traveling to California with his parents to visit colleges in the Bay area. Due to an unfortunate passing of a distant relative who they had planned to visit during the trip, they had a gap in their schedule. They decided to head to the Napa Valley, a place that they had all certainly heard about, but knew little about. He and his father Chip were taken with Napa’s laid-back lifestyle, vineyard filled landscapes and the wines. Casey knew then that his path in life will be with wine. Back at home in Wisconsin with those memories still fresh, Casey picked up a job at a local wine shop to begin learning all he could while Chip began collecting wines both from Napa and around the world.
