Protector Cellars

A California RED w/ Global Impact (4-Pack)

Cabernet Sauvignon

About this wine

This Cabernet Sauvignon is loaded with dark-fruit juiciness, framed by a moderate tannic structure and balanced acidity. The fruit was primarily grown in Paso Robles at high elevation, where the diurnal shift makes for great development of dark fruit character, while still allowing the grapes to retain their natural acidity. The wine was aged for 16 months in a combination of stainless steel and neutral french oak. It is immediately approachable without any hint of sloppiness. 4-Pack (Each can is 250mL, slightly less than 2 glasses of wine. Three cans is the equivalent of a standard bottle of wine (750mL)). Meet the Winemaker

Alex Katz

Winemaker/Owner

Protector Cellars

Before starting Protector Cellars, Alex Katz made wine for over a decade with the wineries, La Fenetre, Timbre, and Mandrake, and consulted on several other Santa Barbara County wineries. During this time, he noticed that droughts were becoming more severe, grapes were ripening earlier each year, and wildfires were torching vineyard lands with increasing regularity. He felt a responsibility to address the forces of climate change that were literally changing the wine industry in front of his face so he dedicated himself to making wines that not only taste great, but have a measurable positive impact on the planet.
