Rauchwein - a white Merlot

White Wine Blend

About this wine

This wine is a white wine made from Merlot. Yes, that's correct, Merlot, the dark red grape. Red grapes can make delicious white wines! As a matter of fact, most Champaign is made from red grapes (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier). Now back to our wine. It's an off-dry wine with a golden hue. We named it Rauchwein, which means "Smoked wine" in German. It has a slight smokey quality which we love. This wine will go beautifully with spicy Asian-themed dishes, BBQ and charcuterie.

Love Notes and High Praise

Electric minerality is enhanced by the slightly smoked character. A brilliant thing to do in a year like 2018! Many consumers don’t think about how important it is to support the growers we love in years that throw us curveballs. Bravo!
