Belong Wine Co.
Alli and Bertus van Zyl are the dynamic duo behind these bright, fresh wines. They celebrate their adventures, explorations, their love and respect for one another, and their community and land. These minimal intervention wines are energetic and have a zest for life that's simply captivating - just like their makers. Their production is focused on the El Dorado County region of the Sierra Foothills. As proud members of Climate Neutral and 1% for the Planet, Alli and Bertus are passionate about making Belong Wine Co. a company for good and are excited to continue their efforts to leave their land better than they found it. Every purchase of their wines allows them to give back to an environmental nonprofit. They also measure and offset their Carbon footprint and are taking ambitious action to reduce their emissions each year. They believe in their responsibility to make a difference in this world through their actions and their business.

Owners and Winemakers
They grew up on opposite ends of the globe - Bertus in Cape Town, South Africa and Alli in the Bay Area sugar hamlet of Crockett. They met in 2010 during Bertus’ first harvest in Napa. It would be another year before they went on their first date to Bouchon in Yountville. Bertus swept Alli off her feet with his southern charm. A shared bottle of 2008 Domaine Tempier sparked their love of Mourvèdre. In 2017 they started Belong Wine Co. with 1 ton of fruit and a whole lot of gumption. Their goal is to produce wines with a clear sense of place, with freshness and complexity. Serious wines made by people who don't take themselves too seriously.
